The Game is NOT HER | Elena Bellantoni

On October 31, SUTURA will open “The game is NOT HER”: the exhibition presents Elena Bellantoni’s NOT HER series, created in 2023 for the Dior Spring-Summer 2024 fashion show at the Jardin des Tuileries in Paris, and reimagined for SUTURA in a new version, in collaboration with the Turin Institute of Physical Therapy.

In outpatient settings and within the exhibition space, Bellantoni’s works become a provocative and interstitial presence that challenges both the clinical and sociocultural perspectives, deconstructing the language and imagery associated with the female body. Through this project, SUTURA implements a substantial methodological innovation: rethinking the devices, instruments, and furnishings typical of medical practice, focusing on the doctor’s office as a space for relationships and encounters—a daily threshold where the body is observed, measured, described, and treated.
