Stefania Migliorati was born in Bergamo in 1977 and lives permanently in Berlin.
The qwatz residency began as a production residency for the exhibition *States of Uncertain Domesticities*, curated by Alba D’Urbano and Ada Lombardi and hosted at the Carlo Bilotti Aranciera Museum in Villa Borghese, Rome.
The examination of public space as an indicator of the times in which we live, the ethical responsibility of human choice in sociopolitical and ecological terms, and the exploration of the behavior of other species and their interaction with the human sphere are the themes at the heart of Stefania Migliorati’s multidisciplinary research. The artist was awarded two research and production grants in 2021 and 2022, from the Kunstwers Foundation of VG Bild-Kunst and the Kunstfonds Foundation, respectively, and was selected for the 2018 Grand Tour d’Italie organized by Mibact (Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities), in collaboration with qwatz, a platform for contemporary art – Rome, and was a finalist for the 2013 Talent Prize and the 2008 Premio Profilo Arte.
