qwatz – contemporary art platform collaborates, as external consultant, to the first edition of Magic Carpets Italia, a four-year residency project for artists of Latitudo Art – Projects, co-financed by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, which involves 13 European partners.

The theme chosen for the first year of Magic Carpets Italia is ‘the Other, the Stranger’. The artist Melanie Garland, a Chilean by birth and a German by adoption, has chosen to develop it by reflecting on the fragile condition of migrants, giving life to ‘Liminality’.

Melanie Garland was proposed by ZKU/KUNSTrePUBLIC, Berlin, partner of the Magic Carpets platform.
