The Directorate-General for Art and Architecture and Urban Peripheries (DGAAP) of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and developed, in collaboration with qwatz_platform for contemporary art, organizes the second edition of the project GRAND TOUR d’ITALIE.
18 selected Italian artists are confronted with 9 curators and directors of important international organizations; first stop in Rome, second in Naples.
The format is based on four private meetings during which the artists talk about their personal research, showing their works, videos and publishing projects. The selection, curated by Carolina Italiano (DGAAP) and Benedetta di Loreto (qwatz), focused on the anthropological, social and relational aspects of the research of the Italian artists most active on the national and international territory who analyze these issues.
“Grand Tour d’Italie is an important networking opportunity between mid-career Italian artists and foreign curators and directors, belonging to an international network of production, exhibition and artistic research locations” (Federica Galloni – DGAAP General Manager).
